Acacia Spectrum of Faith Society (ASOFS) is a Canadian non-profit organization based in Calgary, Alberta, dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities and their families, with a particular focus on children and youth with autism, developmental disabilities, neurodiversity, and other special needs.

ASOFS was established from a commitment to create stronger, more inclusive communities where individuals with disabilities are not defined by their limitations but are recognized for their abilities, potential, dignity, and contribution to society.

2. Our History

Acacia Spectrum of Faith Society was created in response to the need for more accessible, family-centred, culturally responsive, and inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their caregivers.

From its beginnings, ASOFS has focused on bringing families together, reducing social isolation, improving access to community activities, promoting disability awareness, and creating environments where children and families can participate without fear of exclusion or judgment.

The organization has continued to develop its governance, membership, volunteer network, community partnerships, family programs, recreational initiatives, advocacy activities, and funding relationships.

ASOFS is building a long-term organizational model that combines direct family support, inclusive community programming, education, advocacy, accessibility awareness, partnerships, and capacity building.

ASOFS’s primary objectives are to:

4. Provide families with information, resources, referrals, networking opportunities, and community connections.
